Clock clock tick tock

Consulting “By the Minute”

Last week, at the end of the day, I was ready to go home, but because I had to wait for my wife, I could not. Not being one to lay back in my chair, and close my eyes, I had an idea. It has been months since I acted like a business buyer and went on the web to see who in the cloud also offered CPA Due Diligence services. To my amazement I came up on the first page!

Next, I put in due diligence services and I found dozens of listings related to due diligence computers. I am not young enough to compete with computers that do due diligence and I do not understand how a computer can even do “due diligence.” Will someone tell me how a computer smells fraud?

After being surprised again that no one advertises due diligence for the business buyer, I decided to try looking under consulting without any specialization as to what type of consulting. I found that there are websites that sell consulting time by the minute from a wide range of educated people on many subjects. It was interesting to find out that I can get expert advice from alleged experts in:

  • Raising capital for your business.
  • Appraisers of all kinds.
  • Antiques,
  • Cars,
  • Coins,
  • Baseball cards, etc.

You could even get your future told by a love expert who was also a card reader. There was even a voodoo doctor. (His degree was pending the collapse of the American Medical Association.) It was about that time, my wife called me to go home and I closed the computer. The Internet is fascinating and can even hypnotize you if you’re not careful.

I didn’t think any more about it until this week. Ha-ha! Would anyone be willing to connect to an old CPA and get their palm read? I could predict success or failure based on the tea leaves in my cup. That sounds like fun. That might even be a solution for the people who keep telling me I work too hard and need to have some fun. Maybe I can have some fun making predictions about my future regarding my success in teaching my two children, “How to make and hold on to money.” I think I am better off leaving that questions to the Gods. Maybe I will make a sacrifice on the altar of dreams. I keep dreaming they will listen to my advice, but up to now, I have had no such luck.
